Payasam sweet and yummy dish to try
Welcome to all again in "food is love " blog.today we will see the sweet stuff to eat and enjoy.dish named as "Payasam".in some regions of India it called as kheer and some regions it's called as "Payasam". In this festive season we will make and try to add some sweetness.
Preparation time:10-15 minutes . Cook time :40-45 minutes. Total cook time:50-55 minutes . Prefered as: Lunch. Type: vegetarian. Cuisine:south indian. So lets add the sweetness. List of ingredients: 1)4-5 cups of full fat milk. 2)1/4 cup basmati rice. 3)1/4 cup warm full fat milk. 4) 1/4 tbsp saffron (kesar). 5)1/2 cup sugar. 6) 1/2 tbsp cinaamon powder(Dalchini).
Step by step guide to follow:step 1:first of all main ingredients is rice . Step 2: Try to use long grained rice like basmati for this .washed 2-3 times properly. Step 3: after proper washing let the rice soaked for 30 minutes in fresh water. Step 4:u can do roasting of rice if u dont want to soak the rice both the choices u have. Step 5: just drained the rice with strainer. Step 6:Take a non stick pan. Step 7:rinse the non stick pan with 1/4 cup of water in it . Step 8:only for 2-3 minutes for rinsing. Step 9:now pour the full fat milk in a non stick pan. Step 10:just boiled the milk on high flame upto 5-7 minutes. Step 11: stir well milk properly to avoid sticking at bottom. Step 12: Add the drained rice in that milk. Step 13: mix it well properly . Step 14: now add the sugar upto 3-4 tbsp if u want to make more sweet add more sugar . Step 15: on the low flame simmer the milk for few minutes. Step 16:keep stirring properly . Step 17: now we will add the saffron milk mixture into the pan. step 18: add the cardamom powder upto 1/2 tbsp in that.let it cook for 2-3 minutes on low heat.just serve "Payasam".

Tip: full fat milk add the thickeness to the dish.if u dont want to use sugar then u can use other sweetners like honey,dry dates Powder .dont use jaggery in milk acidic nature can break the milk. add dry fruits it make more intresting.
