Butter garlic naan crunchy and yummy

Butter Garlic Naan Recipe
Soft, fluffy naan brushed with aromatic garlic butter—perfect for pairing with curries or enjoying on its own!

Ingredients
For the Naan Dough:
2 cups all-purpose flour (or maida)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ cup plain yogurt (at room temperature)
¼ cup warm milk
2 tablespoons oil (plus extra for greasing)
Water (as needed, about 2-3 tablespoons)

For the Garlic Butter:
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
3-4 garlic cloves, finely minced
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

For Cooking:
Extra flour for dusting
Butter for brushing

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
Add yogurt, warm milk, and oil. Mix until it forms a crumbly texture.
Gradually add water and knead for 8-10 minutes until the dough is soft and smooth.
Grease the dough with a little oil, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rest in a warm place for 1-2 hours (until it doubles in size).

2. Make the Garlic Butter:
Melt butter in a small pan over low heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant (avoid browning).
Stir in chopped cilantro (if using) and set aside.

3. Shape and Cook the Naan:
After resting, punch the dough to release air. Divide into 6-8 equal balls.
On a floured surface, roll each ball into an oval or round shape (about ¼-inch thick).
Cooking Methods:
Stovetop (Tawa or Skillet): Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place the rolled naan on it. Cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles form. Flip and cook the other side until golden brown spots appear.
Oven (Broiler): Preheat the broiler. Place rolled naan on a baking sheet. Broil for 2-3 minutes per side until puffed and charred in spots.
Traditional Tandoor Style: If you have a grill or pizza stone, cook at high heat for a smoky flavor.

4. Finish with Garlic Butter:
Immediately after cooking, brush each naan generously with the prepared garlic butter.
Serve warm for the best taste and texture!

Tips for Perfect Naan
Dough Consistency: The dough should be soft but not sticky—adjust with flour or water as needed.
Resting Time: Don’t skip this! It makes the naan fluffy.
Garlic Butter: Use fresh garlic for the best aroma. For extra richness, add a pinch of kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) to the butter.
Serving Suggestions: Enjoy with dal makhani, paneer butter masala, or any curry. It also pairs well with raita or chutney.

Why This Recipe Works
This recipe combines yogurt for tenderness and baking powder for lift, ensuring soft, restaurant-style naan. The garlic butter adds a savory punch that’s irresistible. Homemade naan is fresher and customizable—you can adjust garlic levels or add herbs like parsley or mint.

Happy cooking! If you try this, let me know how it turns out 😊.
